Q. Will the RustProtector have any effect on my car 's battery or electrical system?
A. No.
The RustProtector 's signal is "Direct Coupled"directly into the vehicle 's metal at an extremely low frequency. Power consumption is minimal, about the same power draw as a regular quartz clock found in most vehicles. It will not effect on-board computers, car audio, cellular phones, or other electrical equipment on a vehicle.
Q. How do I know the RustProtector is operating properly?
A. The RustProtector module has a diagnostic LED.
The LED is mounted on the interior of the vehicle and has a steady cycle. If you should notice this LED off, continuously on, or blinking at an abnormal rate, contact your Authorized RustProtector Dealer.
Q. Will the Rustprotector stop all rust, including surface rust?
A. The RustProtector is a Corrosion Deterrent System that is specially designed to achieve protection against the devastating damage of rust perforation from the inside out AND the outside in. Bare metal, exposed to the elements of air and moisture, will want to begin the rust process but the RustProtector will guard against and control (inhibit) the normal process of destruction resulting from the corrosion process. Minimal surface rust that may occur in certain conditions will NOT progress through the body of the automobile when it is protected with the RustProtector.
Q. Is it difficult to install myself?
A. NO
The RustProtector comes boxed in a 'kit' that includes everything you need to install the unit to your car. There are only three wires to attach.
Q. What tools do I need to install the RustProtector?
A. Installation requires that you have a screwdriver. If you have a small drill, a couple of drill bits, and a pocket or other sharp knife you can easily install the rust protection unit.
Q. How long does a typical 'self-install' take?
A. If you have the tools above and you are comfortable installing an 'after market' car part then it can be installed in about 40 minutes. Most people take about an hour to install the unit and benefit from years of extended life to their vehicles.
Most garages would charge about 45 minutes of 'shop time' to install the RustProtector.
Q. Are the self-install units the same as the units installed by an authorized dealer?
A. YES
